Job Summary
As a member of our bookstore team, you’ll be at the heart of our operation — helping students get the resources they need, keeping the store running smoothly, and creating a friendly, helpful atmosphere that reflects our seminary’s values. The Bookstore Clerk will also be on the front lines of keeping our inventory managed properly, which entails an attention to detail and a high level of training. The role is also responsible to handle cash flow for our business, so the role operates with a high level of trust and integrity. Our Seminary Bookstore is more than just a place to shop — it’s a hub for students, faculty, and visitors, and we’re looking for dedicated, enthusiastic team members to help us make it an even better place to be!
Duties/Responsibilities:

Providing top-notch customer service with a smile — whether in person, on the phone, or online

Running the cash register and handling transactions with care and accuracy

Managing and caring for the integrity of our inventory management

Assist in processing incoming inventory, double checking pricing and damages

Have a strong knowledge of inventory pricing including discount structure, taxes, and shipping costs

Assist in the process of outgoing inventory including picking orders, processing orders, and preparing orders to ship

This role calls for a high-level problem solving and attention to detail

Due to the fact that this role will be responsible for money transactions, we are looking for a candidate with high integrity and maturity

Packing and shipping book orders to students around the country

Pulling and preparing online orders quickly and efficiently

Receiving book shipments and getting them on the shelves

Keeping the store clean, tidy, and organized

Work with the Bookstore team during graduation to hand out regalia to graduates – and help graduates with regalia at the ceremony

Represent the store at certain events throughout the year such as graduation, faculty publication events, and conferences

Helping with our yearly inventory

Education and Experience
