Overview
We are seeking an Obstetrics CNA, also referred to as an Obstetrics and Gynecology Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Labor and Delivery CNA or L&D CNA. An Obstetrics CNA supports mothers, newborns, and the care team in our Obstetrics department by assisting with vital signs, hygiene, feeding, and newborn care while ensuring patient comfort and safety. They also help nurses and physicians during deliveries, transport patients, restock supplies, and maintain a clean, supportive environment for both mother and baby. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.
Shifts Available: Days
Employment Type: Per Diem
Hours: 12 hour shifts
Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Support mothers during labor and postpartum with positioning, hygiene, mobility, comfort, and emotional reassurance
- Assist with clinical tasks such as vital signs, specimen collection, and preparing supplies for deliveries and procedures
- Provide newborn care including weighing, bathing, swaddling, feeding assistance, and safe transport
- Monitor mothers and infants for complications, record observations, and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Maintain a clean patient environment, restock OB supplies, answer call lights, and assist with patient transport
