We are seeking a Definitive Observation Unit CNA , also ref erred to DOU Certified Nursing Assistant, Step-Down Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Progressive Care C NA in our Definitive Observation Unit (DOU) . This role involves providing direct patient care to individuals who require closer monitoring than on a regular med-surg floor but are not critical enough for the ICU in our DOU .

Employment Type : Full Time
Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00am to 7:00pm
Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center - Mesquite, TX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Take and record frequent vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation
- Assist patients with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, and feeding support
- Turn, reposition, and assist patients with mobility and safe transfers using proper techniques and equipment
- Monitor and document intake and output while observing for and reporting any changes in patient condition
- Support nursing staff in providing high-quality care to patients requiring close observation in a step-down unit
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
- Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician?s office preferred.
