Scope of the Position:

The Manager of Corporate Giving is responsible for planning and implementing all aspects of the DMA’s Corporate Partners program and corporate sponsorships at the $75,000 level and below. The Manager plays a key role in developing the Museum’s corporate giving programs and event sponsorships by strengthening and developing relationships that lead to successful solicitations with corporations and corporate foundations.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a creative mindset, capable of generating innovative ideas and strategies to develop a dynamic and compelling corporate program. Applicants should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong relationship-building abilities to earn the trust and confidence of both internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate partners and sponsors from $2,500–$75,000.
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities with the Senior Director and actively research new corporate prospects to grow the Corporate Partners program.
  • Prepare customized, persuasive corporate proposals and timely, comprehensive reports that demonstrate the impact and value of corporate gifts. Analyze Corporate Partner benefits to ensure the offerings are competitive and provide value; suggest and implement changes as needed.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Corporate Partner funding priorities, needs, and accomplishments.
  • Work collaboratively across the Museum with Marketing, Guest Services, and Education teams to manage Corporate Partner benefit fulfillment and contractual obligations and requests.
  • Manage the sponsor recognition process for the entire Museum to ensure consistency, visibility, and alignment with Museum values.
  • Track key performance metrics and prepare budgets as needed to report progress.
  • Ongoing monitoring of industry-related developments in corporate giving best practices across relevant industries.
  • No supervisory oversight.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education, Experience, and Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nonprofit experience, preferably with corporate fundraising.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other Office suite applications.
  • Previous Raisers Edge and CRM systems experience preferred.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to steward sponsors at special events and programs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and distribute business materials, proposals, reports, and presentations that convey information effectively and make a compelling case for support.
  • Experience cultivating, soliciting, and securing corporate sponsors using creative and effective fundraising strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to work effectively with corporate representatives, providing them with strong support and inspiring them to productive action.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Financial literacy, including experience tracking and analyzing financial data in an accurate, timely, and comprehensible way.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
