POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dallas Mavericks G-League Affiliate are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Head Strength and Conditioning Coach to lead the physical conditioning and training programs for our professional athletes. This role is crucial in optimizing player performance, reducing injury risks, and enhancing overall team success.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive strength and conditioning programs.
- Ensure athletes achieve peak physical performance through tailored training regimens.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate fitness, nutrition, and rehabilitation strategies.
- Maintain high standards of safety and professionalism within the training facilities.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function as well as the following:
- Strong understanding of sports performance, biomechanics, and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with athletes and staff.
- Leadership abilities to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their best.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing customized training programs.
- Ability to conduct detailed physical assessments and track progress.
- Knowledge of injury prevention techniques and rehabilitation processes.
- Capability to manage and maintain training facilities and equipment.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team's schedule.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strength and conditioning, preferably with professional or collegiate athletes.
- Strong understanding of sports performance, biomechanics, and physiology.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team's schedule.
- Passion for sports and a commitment to the health and success of the athletes.
