Job Overview
The Director of Admissions and Recruitment provides leadership over all student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment decision-making functions for Dallas International University. This role is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies, overseeing admissions operations, making enrollment decisions, and ensuring students are fully cleared and prepared to enroll.
Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, the Director works closely with institutional leadership to ensure that enrollment efforts align with DIU’s mission, spiritual values, academic standards, and long-term strategic priorities. This role balances external recruitment growth with internal admissions stewardship in a spiritually healthy context.
This position provides enrollment leadership across all DIU student populations, including dual enrollment, undergraduate, and graduate programs; on-campus students in Dallas; students enrolled through programs at international sites and in languages other than English; and international students studying on-campus and online.
Responsibilities ii
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide leadership that fosters a spiritually healthy, Christ-centered environment for admissions and recruitment personnel, including employees, student workers, and volunteers.
- Assess enrollment health, trends, and growth and provide regular updates to the Vice President of Advancement.
- Develop, maintain, and implement DIU’s admissions and recruitment strategy in coordination with Marketing and Development.
- Recommend enrollment-related policies, procedures, and decision frameworks.
Recruitment & Outreach
- Represent DIU to prospective students, families, churches, ministries, schools, partner institutions, and community stakeholders.
- Oversee recruitment strategies and outreach efforts for multiple student populations, including undergraduate, graduate, on-campus, online, international, and international partner-site students.
- Define priority markets, programs, and student populations for recruitment.
- Oversee recruitment travel, college fairs, church and youth events, and external recruitment activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with key influencers such as pastors, youth directors, guidance counselors, and sending organizations.
- Oversee campus visits, preview events, and virtual recruitment experiences.
- Analyze market trends and competing institutions to refine recruitment messaging and positioning.
Admissions & Enrollment Management
- Oversee admissions policies, application review, and enrollment decisions across all student populations, including domestic and international students, online learners, and students enrolled through international partner sites.
- Oversee the full admissions funnel, including application review, acceptance, denial, and conditional decisions.
- Ensure timely admissions decisions and consistent applicant follow-up.
- Chair or oversee the Admissions Committee.
- Supervise international admissions processes, including credential review, documentation, and compliance workflows.
- Ensure new students are fully cleared for registration, housing, and financial readiness.
- Communicate cross-culturally with key administrators related to admissions work for DIU’s global programs
Operations, Systems & Data
- Provide decision-making and delegation authority for admissions and recruitment operations.
- Oversee enrollment communication channels and ensure a positive applicant experience.
- Maintain and report key enrollment performance indicators and projections.
- Oversee Slate (CRM) workflows supporting recruitment, admissions, and student communication. Learn how to change configurations, optimize workflows and automations.
- Ensure coordination and clean handoffs between Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Services, and international partners.
- Participate in accreditation, institutional reporting, and planning activities related to enrollment.
Team Leadership & Budget
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate admissions and recruitment staff.
- Provide ongoing professional development and performance management.
- Manage the admissions and recruitment budget in coordination with the Vice President of Advancement.
- Approve departmental travel, expenses, schedules, and leave.
Activities
- Monitor and improve enrollment-related communication flows and systems.
- Prepare enrollment reports, projections, and KPI dashboards.
- Participate in institutional planning, policy development, and accreditation reporting as requested.
- Interact with peer institutions and professional associations for benchmarking and collaboration.
- Maintain current professional knowledge through memberships, conferences, and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Communication
- Meet regularly with the Vice President of Advancement to provide updates on enrollment performance, needs, and opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Development, Academic Leadership, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Affairs, and international partners.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with prospective students, families, and external partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in higher education, enrollment management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in admissions, recruitment, or enrollment leadership, preferably in a private or Christian higher education context.
- Experience working with multiple student populations, including graduate, online, international, or distributed learning-site students, preferred.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of enrollment-related policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency with database and CRM systems, Microsoft 365, and enrollment reporting tools.
- Professional demeanor and ability to represent the university with clarity and mission alignment.

Hours
Full-time (40 hours per week). Standard business hours with flexibility required for international meetings, recruitment travel, events, and activities outside normal office hours.
Physical Requirements
Good physical health is required. The position requires physical effort such as lifting chairs, moving tables, transporting books and food, etc. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
