Job Overview 

The Advancement & Marketing Coordinator is a key member of the Advancement and Enrollment team. This position supports the university's communication, recruitment, and marketing efforts through social media, photography, video content, graphic design, and project coordination.


The ideal candidate is creative, organized, dependable, and excited about telling stories through digital media. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys creating social media content, taking photographs, producing short-form videos, and using tools such as Canva and AI-assisted technologies to communicate effectively.


We are looking for someone who loves creating content and is eager to learn. Expert-level design experience is not required.

Responsibilities ii

  1. Social Media & Content Creation
    • Create engaging content for social media platforms including posts, stories, reels, and short videos.
    • Assist in maintaining a social media calendar and content schedule.
    • Develop content that highlights student life, events, programs, alumni, and the mission of DIU.
    • Monitor trends and suggest new content ideas.
       
  2. Photography & Video
    • Take photographs at campus events and activities.
    • Capture and edit short-form videos for social media and promotional use.
    • Organize and maintain photo and video assets.
    • Assist with storytelling through visual media.
       
  3. Graphic Design & Communications
    • Create flyers, slides, digital graphics, signage, and other promotional materials.
    • Assist with website updates and content improvements.
    • Help manage the marketing email account and communication requests.
    • Support donor, recruitment, and advancement communication projects.
       
  4. Project Coordination & Operational Support
    • Track and complete assigned projects and action items.
    • Assist with recruitment events and advancement initiatives.
    • Organize marketing materials and maintain inventory.
    • Help maintain a professional and guest-ready office environment.
    • Attend Enrollment and Advancement meetings as directed.
    • Collaborate with faculty and staff across the university.

Activities

  • Produce social media posts, reels, and videos.
  • Create graphics using Canva and similar tools.
  • Take photographs and edit visual content.
  • Support recruitment and advancement campaigns.
  • Assist with website and digital content projects.
  • Help distribute promotional materials.
  • Participate in professional development related to marketing, social media, and communication.
  • Utilize AI tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and content creation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Communication

  • Meet regularly with the Vice President for Advancement and other team members.
  • Utilize Outlook, Teams, Canva, and project management tools for collaboration.
  • Maintain professional communication with faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and external partners.

Qualifications 

  • Current college student or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with social media platforms and content creation.
  • Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools.
  • Photography or video editing experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Canva AI.
  • Creative, teachable, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of Dallas International University.

Hours

20 hours per week (paid hourly). Hours will be determined in consultation with the supervisor. Some evening and weekend event coverage may occasionally be required.
 

Physical Requirements 

Good physical health is required. The position may involve lifting chairs, moving tables, transporting boxes, setting up event materials, and other physical tasks. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
