- Manage student-teacher by creating and developing new and existing partnerships with colleges, universities, and alternative certification departments to enhance the student teaching experience with Dallas ISD.
- Requires working with colleges/universities and students in the approval and placement process, follow-up training, screening and interviewing, coordinating receptions, and assisting with the transaction and hiring process.
- Develop and support student teachers throughout their internship with Dallas ISD by offering a series of ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between School Leadership Division offices and HCM department to offer professional development and support, placing and training, and hiring process.
- Identify and train effective cooperating teachers in the district in order to build strong relationships between each mentor and student-teacher.
- Create and execute training sessions for program participants.
- Monitor the compliance with policies, procedures, and extended year guidelines; Conduct campus visits as required for the monitoring and supporting of program implementation.
- Align efforts to the district’s goal of converting, hiring, and retaining highly qualified staff to improve instructional results on district campuses.
- Manage recruitment projects and all phases of the conversion process, assisting in the development of the district’s recruitment strategy for teachers.
- Articulate, establish, and foster collaborations and partnerships with stakeholders, including but not limited to Universities and Colleges.
- Manage the process of creating contracts and Interlocal Agreements with EPP’s.
- Facilitate and provide campus district-wide opportunities to student teachers outside of the program seeking to complete classrooms observations hours.
- Provide leadership input on university partnership grant-funded initiatives in order to maintain a high level of program effectiveness and success.
- Serve as the HCM liaison for districtwide student-teacher engagement and conversion efforts.
- Co-serve as HCM liaison to internal divisions and external partners in support of the district’s hiring and conversion strategy.
- Research best practices for recruiting, placing, training, workplace culture, employee engagement, and retaining student teachers.
- Utilize technology to collect data, analyze findings, and prepare reports to drive placements, onboarding, conversion, and performance management initiatives.
- Develop and maintain databases, reports, and/or documentation that summarize departmental activities and budget.
- Implement growth strategies and initiatives, manage day-to-day tasks and activities, ensures adequate orientation of student teachers, training, and cross-training of personnel.
- Communicate effectively with departmental staff, principals, teachers, and external stakeholders outside of the District in oral and written form; meet with all stakeholders to process concerns to resolution and to implement best practices.
- Collect and organize documentation and data on services provided.
- Define problems, analyze data and develop action plans as part of a continuous improvement cycle.
- Development of both Title I and Title II Work Scope to oversee federal funding of the Office of Student Teaching program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a directly related field. Master's degree from an accredited university preferred.
- Three or more years of direct teaching experience, preferably in a bilingual, K-12 setting.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct staff development and training sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and track student-teacher candidates and prospects.
- Demonstrated experience with university systems and possess strong relationship-development skills.
