Job Description

Assists with the planning and coordinating of day-to-day fiscal, administrative and operational activities for a defined funded program or project to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing and scheduling program work plan in accordance with specifications and funding limitations; oversees daily operations and coordinates activities of program; determines priorities.
  • Assists in ensuring the service delivery network meets the needs of the intended population, reflects the objectives and intent of the program or project, and meets applicable federal guidelines.
  • Assists in coordinating activities of program with interrelated activities of other programs, departments or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.
  • Assists in evaluating program effectiveness to develop improved methods; devises evaluation methodology and implements; analyzing results and recommends and/or takes appropriate action.
  • Assists in writing, editing, and coordinating the development of promotional, educational, and training materials, newsletters, or brochures, as appropriate to the program.
  • Assists in collecting and analyzing data; preparing scheduled and special reports; maintaining program/project records and statistical information.
  • Assists with grant and/or proposal writing as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program.
  • Assists with the preparation of periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Training:

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Administration, Accounting, Behavioral Science, or in a job related field of study.

Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code.

This position for Administrative Coordinator II serves as the Elections Department’s Bilingual (Spanish Language) Coordinator. The position assists the Elections Communications Manager in the translation and publication of all department materials including ballot language, website, press releases, and social media content. They serve as the point of contact for the Spanish language media and act as a liaison in the Spanish-speaking community. Additionally, this position will assist in the recruitment of translators working on Election Day.She/He recruits individuals to work as bilingual poll workers.By law, Dallas County must hold and administer elections in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese languages.Therefore, our polling locations must be served by poll workers that can speak those languages.

The Bilingual Language Coordinators help to ensure that all written communications regarding elections are conformed to the languages served and provide accurate information.

Bilingual Language Coordinators also help to train poll workers that will serve as bilingual interpreters and assistants in polling locations and our call centers.

Outside of election-related operations, Bilingual Language Coordinators assist with communicating and educating English, Spanish, and Vietnamese speaking citizens about voter registration, becoming deputy voter registrars, poll worker recruitment.Their communication is through press releases, social media, television, radio, and attending community events.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

Standard office environment. Ability to travel to various work site locations.
