JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are currently hiring for both part-time and full-time Instructional Assistant positions; in this role, you will support teachers and students by providing academic assistance, classroom support, and supervision, helping create a positive, structured, and productive learning environment while working closely with staff to implement lessons, meet individual student needs, and demonstrate strong communication, adaptability, and a commitment to our E3 mission—engage, empower, and equip.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the classroom teacher by following their guidance, direction, and instructional plans.
- Provide academic assistance to students individually or in small groups under teacher supervision.
- Assist with classroom activities, projects, and lesson implementation.
- Support students in developing organization, study skills, and self-management strategies.
- Monitor student engagement and provide encouragement to stay on task.
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervise students in classrooms, common areas, and during transitions as assigned.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Assist with the use of technology and learning tools to support instruction.
- Uphold and model the school’s E3 mission, engage, empower, and equip, in all interactions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be over the age of 18 and have knowledge of appropriate provisions of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), or the ability to rapidly acquire a working knowledge of such provisions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience working with students preferred.
- Ability to work under teacher direction, follow established plans, and support instructional programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work empathetically with students who have learning, physical, social, behavioral, or sensory impairments.
- Capability to respond appropriately to students who may exhibit aggressive or assaultive behaviors.
- Physical ability to perform job tasks, including kneeling, bending, reaching, sitting (chair or floor), walking, squatting, crawling, running, quick movements, climbing stairs, and lifting students with mobility impairments.
- Willingness and ability to work in an environment that can be physically and emotionally demanding.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate and problem-solve with staff.
- Clear, concise communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Successful completion of required background check and fingerprinting.
EMPLOYMENT:
Upon offer of employment, a background check and fingerprints will be required or proof of a valid TSPC license number.

Salary Range: $15.50 to $17.97 per hour/DOE
