SUMMARY
Dallas Children’s Theater (DCT) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Development Operations Associate to support and strengthen the organization’s contributed revenue efforts. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role is responsible for gift processing, donor stewardship, database management, and day-to-day administrative operations of the Development department. The Development Operations Associate plays a critical role in ensuring data accuracy, donor satisfaction, and efficient systems that support fundraising, campaigns, and special events. This position works collaboratively with Finance, Marketing, and Executive leadership to advance DCT’s mission and fundraising goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3 years of professional experience working in a nonprofit development or advancement environment
• Demonstrated experience with gift processing, donor records, acknowledgments, and stewardship
• Working knowledge of CRM operations required; Tessitura preferred
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience managing multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Processes all charitable gifts including individual donations, pledges, matching gifts, grants, and event revenue in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintains and manages donor records in Tessitura, ensuring data integrity, accurate coding, and proper reporting
• Oversees acknowledgment and stewardship processes, including tax receipts, thank-you letters, donor recognition, and fulfillment of benefits
• Supports donor cultivation and stewardship efforts by preparing mailing lists, reports, and donor profiles
• Manages Development department administrative operations, including calendar coordination, documentation, and internal workflows
• Serves as liaison between Development and Finance departments to reconcile gifts, deposits, and revenue reporting
• Generates regular fundraising reports and dashboards for the Director of Development and leadership team
• Supports fundraising campaigns, appeals, and special events through data management, tracking, and post-event reporting
• Assists with grant tracking, reporting deadlines, and documentation
• Ensures Development processes align with organizational policies, best practices, and audit requirements
• Supports cross-departmental collaboration to ensure consistent donor communications and brand standards
• Assists with board giving tracking and reporting as needed
• Identifies opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and donor experience within the Development department
