Job Overview:
The Dallas Mavericks is looking for an Event Manager/Coordinator to join our team and oversee and organize events that will make an impact on the organization. You’ll ensure events are successful, cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints.
Essential Job Function:
- Assist in planning and execution of events for the Dallas Mavericks including game day events, community events, season ticket holder events, corporate partnership events, and all events relating to the Dallas Mavericks brand.
- Assist in facilitating logistics for all events including décor, venue preparation, guest lists, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, AV, gifting, and marketing materials.
- Work closely with events team to execute events to the standards of the Dallas Mavericks
- Host internal recaps of Dallas Mavericks events to analyze the event’s successes and areas of improvement.
- Prepare event budgets and ensure adherence.
- Help maintain and update the Dallas Mavericks Events and Experiences calendar.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proven experience in event planning or coordination
- Skilled in project management
- Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Attention to detail
- Manage and build relationships with vendors, venues, and other industry contacts.
- Remain current (or ahead of the curve) with trends in event planning, design, and production.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work closely with other employees, vendors, stakeholders, and guests.
- Resourceful, proactive team player
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Must pass a drug screening and have a clean background record.
- Reliable; available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Manager or Coordinator Title is commensurate with experience.
