What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Program Associate, Everett Center for Global Religious Freedom position at Dallas Baptist University?
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Everett Center for Global Religious Freedom at Dallas Baptist University seeks a motivated graduate student to serve as a part-time Program Associate to specifically support the Center’s International Religious Freedom Applied Research Collaborative (IRF-ARC). The IRF-ARC is a growing network of universities, law schools, and faculty dedicated to advancing practical responses to global religious freedom challenges through student research and engagement.
The Program Associate will assist the Center’s Executive Director in developing a moot court or Model United Nations simulation focused on case studies or regional themes around international religious freedom. The Program Associate will take a leading role in designing, coordinating, and implementing the in-person competition in Washington DC, potentially during the IRF Summit in February 2027.
The Program Associate will also work with the Executive Director to establish research opportunities for IRF-ARC participants. Work will entail engaging with constituent organizations to identify research needs and then engaging faculty, administrations, and students across the various participating IRF-ARC universities or clinics to pursue identified research opportunities.
This position offers an opportunity to work with students and faculty in both undergraduate and graduate settings and to help shape practical opportunities for learning and responding to current religious freedom challenges. Thus, applicants should have a strong interest in working with and mentoring students across academic levels.
The Program Associate will also support the Center’s Director of Research and Partnerships with research and administrative tasks as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and help assist in implementation of IRF-ARC student competition in 2027
- Coordinate meetings with IRF-ARC faculty
- Conduct research and draft simulation materials as needed
- Engage with IRF-ARC constituents to identify research needs
- Participate in IRF-ARC meetings and planning calls
- Attend in-person fall planning meeting at Dallas Baptist University
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current graduate student with proven experience or demonstrated interest in international law, human rights, global religious freedom or related areas
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong research and writing skills
- Excellent communications skills
- International experience is preferred
Qualifications:
- Must be a Christian and a member of a church that holds to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in the New and Old Testaments of the Holy Bible.
