The Opportunity

The Senior Production Manager is a key leader within Dallas Area Habitat’s Construction Department, responsible for overseeing the successful execution of our residential homebuilding portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President of Construction, this position provides operational leadership across multiple concurrent construction projects while leading and developing Project Managers, Site Managers, field staff, volunteers, subcontractors, and construction partners.

This role is responsible for ensuring homes are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Habitat quality standards while driving continuous improvement in construction operations, production planning, forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration. The Senior Production Manager serves as both a strategic leader and hands-on construction professional, helping Dallas Area Habitat achieve its annual homebuilding goals while supporting the organization’s long-term growth.

What You’ll Do

Construction Leadership

· Lead multiple residential construction projects from pre-construction through homeowner occupancy.

· Oversee project schedules, budgets, quality standards, staffing, production milestones, and risk management.

· Coordinate site preparation, permitting, inspections, subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries.

· Monitor contractor and vendor performance to ensure quality workmanship, timely completion, and contractual compliance.

Operational Excellence

· Support annual construction production planning and forecasting to achieve organizational homebuilding goals.

· Assist with departmental coordination, staffing strategies, workflow improvements, and implementation of construction best practices.

· Utilize project metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor production performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

· Participate in land acquisition reviews, budgeting, feasibility studies, and pre-construction planning.

Team Leadership

· Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Site Managers, and construction staff.

· Foster accountability, collaboration, consistency, and professional growth across the construction team.

· Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing employee development.

· Build a positive, mission-driven culture focused on teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Safety & Quality

· Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, local building codes, Habitat construction standards, and organizational policies.

· Promote and enforce safe jobsite practices for employees, volunteers, subcontractors, and partners.

· Maintain high construction quality throughout every phase of each project.

· Proactively identify and mitigate construction risks.

Collaboration & Partnerships

· Partner closely with Community Engagement, Volunteer Engagement, Homeowner Services, Development, Accounting, and other internal teams.

· Serve as a primary point of contact for contractors, vendors, inspectors, and external construction partners.

· Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, inspections, change orders, and reporting.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Seven to ten years of progressive residential construction management experience.

· Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent residential construction projects.

· Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring construction professionals and field teams.

· Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, permitting processes, local building codes, OSHA regulations, and construction finance.

· Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, vendors, and competing priorities.

· Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.

· Valid Texas driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

· Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP).

· OSHA 30 Certification or willingness to obtain after hire.

· Experience in affordable housing, nonprofit construction, production homebuilding, or community development.

· Experience using Procore, Buildertrend, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BuildPro, or similar construction management platforms.

· Experience implementing standardized construction processes and scaling residential construction operations.

· Passion for Dallas Area Habitat’s mission and commitment to serving the community.

Physical Requirements

· Frequent travel between construction sites throughout the Dallas service area.

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Ability to walk active construction sites over uneven terrain.

· Ability to safely climb ladders and conduct site inspections.

· Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 35 pounds.

Salary : $100,000 - $115,000
