Facilities Manager
Location: South London, supporting schools across the wider London area
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm
Working pattern: Mobile role requiring regular travel across London
We are looking for a Facilities Manager to oversee facilities management services across approximately 21–22 schools within a defined geographical area. Based in South London, this is a highly mobile role, and you should expect to spend at least three days each week travelling between sites.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of services across your allocated schools, coordinating Dalkia UK engineers, subcontractors and site teams to ensure planned maintenance and compliance requirements are delivered effectively.
This is a client-facing position requiring strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to work independently, make informed decisions and manage priorities without direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver the compliance programme across all allocated sites, working with the scheduling team, engineers, subcontractors and school teams.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience within a facilities management environment.
You will be an organised and proactive Facilities Manager who can provide clear operational direction to engineers and subcontractors while maintaining high standards across a busy, multi-site estate.
You will understand the importance of compliance, risk management and accurate record-keeping, while remaining commercially aware and focused on delivering an excellent service. Most importantly, you will be comfortable developing trusted relationships with school representatives and other client stakeholders across your allocated area.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver the compliance programme across all allocated sites, working with the scheduling team, engineers, subcontractors and school teams.
- Ensure planned preventative maintenance is completed within the required timescales.
- Maintain site logbooks, compliance records and supporting documentation to an auditable standard.
- Carry out scheduled health, safety and compliance inspections, completing reports and managing resulting actions.
- Review and approve subcontractor risk assessments and method statements before attendance.
- Supervise subcontractors and review service sheets, certificates and supporting evidence following completion.
- Hold regular, structured meetings with GLF Regional Partners and school representatives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Escalate compliance risks, service failures and overdue actions appropriately.
- Identify remedial and minor works opportunities, coordinate quotations and oversee works from approval through to completion.
- Maintain accurate compliance, PPM and action-tracking records using the relevant CAFM and reporting systems.
- Support the Contract Manager in preparing for and attending quarterly and annual client meetings.
- Ensure services are delivered safely and sustainably and in accordance with legal, statutory and company requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Working knowledge of building services, statutory compliance and maintenance delivery.
- Experience coordinating multiple sites or several workstreams simultaneously.
- Ability to review technical and compliance documentation.
- Strong planning, organisation and communication skills.
- Confidence working independently and making operational decisions.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout London.
- IOSH Managing Safely, or willingness to complete the qualification while in the role.
Previous experience within a facilities management environment.
- Experience using CAFM or PPM systems.
- Legionella awareness.
