Senior Cost Accountant Consultant

We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Cost Accountant Consultant at a manufacturing company in Norwood, MA 02062.

The ideal candidate will have experience in reviewing, editing, and building Cost SOP’s.

Will work directly with the Controller and CFO.


This is a temporary role (est. duration 4 months) with an opportunity for extension.


Hourly pay rate: Between $65.00-$75.00 (based on relative work experience), 40 hours per week.


On-site 4 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support financial audits, month-end closing, and other ad hoc requests
• Assist with preparing analysis of financial data to quantify cost savings opportunities
• Analyze monthly fluctuations in volume and amounts as compared to prior months and budget
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and standard costs
• Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory analysis and reconciliations
• Support management with data analysis to monitor inventory stock levels
• Provide operations with financial analysis and thorough reporting of plant metrics and KPI’s
• Prepare and review WIP analyses
• Ensure product costings are accurate and up to date
• Analyze job production costs, material variances, and sales margins
• Reconcile and reduce inventory variance accounts
• Calculate/analyze labor overhead costs
  

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and understanding of GAAP accounting required

• 4 years of job costing and/or POC accounting experience
• 5 years of general ledger/Project Accounting experience
• Proficiency in Excel is a must
• Experience withtop-tierr accounting/ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills 
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
