Senior Accounts Payable Specialist - Burlington, MA
We are seeking candidates for a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist position with a successful life sciences company based in Burlington, MA. This role will oversee day-to-day accounts payable operations, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and in compliance with company policies and SOX requirements. The ideal candidate will have 6 years of full-cycle AP experience within a publicly traded organization.
This is a 6 month contract position that will pay $45-55/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour work week. This position is required to be onsite 3 days per week in their Burlington office.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounts payable operations in partnership with the offshore BPO provider.
Review and process invoices in compliance with company policies, SOX, and audit requirements.
Collaborate with operations, procurement, and vendors to resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, and payment discrepancies.
Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
Provide AP analytics and reporting to business stakeholders; assist with statutory and U.S. financial audits.
Research and resolve returned checks, stop payment requests, and purchase order amendments.
Accurately enter and verify invoices as needed.
Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining strong communication with internal partners and vendors.
Reconcile monthly vendor statements to ensure accounts remain current.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance AP efficiency and accuracy.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of general accounting principles and end-to-end accounts payable processes.
6 years of full-cycle AP experience; Oracle or NetSuite proficiency preferred.
Prior experience in a global, publicly traded company strongly preferred.
Familiarity with two- and three-way matching programs a plus.
Experience administering corporate credit card programs beneficial, but not required.
