Accountant - Financial Services - Boston, MA
We are seeking candidates for an Accountant position with a highly successful financial services firm located in Boston, MA. This role will play a key part in supporting the firm’s finance and accounting operations, with a focus on accurate financial reporting, account reconciliations, and maintaining efficient system processes.
The ideal candidate will bring 2 years of accounting experience, strong proficiency with ERP systems, and a background in professional services
This is a 6 month contract position that will pay $35-45/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour workweek.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely reporting.
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions as needed.
Utilize the ERP system to maintain accurate financial data, generate reports, and streamline accounting processes.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and support ad hoc financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in financial services.
Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar).
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
