Our client is seeking an experienced Finance & Payroll Systems Consultant to support a major payroll transformation initiative. This individual will serve as the bridge between Finance, HR, and Payroll stakeholders, ensuring payroll-related financial processes are accurately designed, tested, and implemented within a complex enterprise environment.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting and financial systems, coupled with hands-on experience supporting payroll integrations, financial controls, and system implementations. This role will play a critical part throughout design, testing, cutover, and post-go-live support activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Finance, Payroll, and HR teams to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into system and interface specifications.
- Provide subject matter expertise on payroll accounting, general ledger structures, and financial reporting requirements.
- Review and validate system designs to ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational financial controls.
- Support payroll-related integrations between HR, payroll, and finance platforms.
- Identify, track, and resolve issues throughout design, configuration, testing, and deployment phases.
- Develop and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), parallel testing, and validation activities to ensure data accuracy and process integrity.
- Create and maintain comprehensive testing documentation and audit-ready records.
- Support cutover planning, deployment activities, and post-implementation stabilization efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive issue resolution and ensure successful project outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting Finance, HR, Payroll, or ERP system implementations and enhancements.
- Strong understanding of payroll accounting processes, including payroll taxes, deductions, accruals, and financial reconciliations.
- Expertise working with general ledger structures and payroll-to-finance integrations.
- Experience supporting month-end close activities, payroll accruals, and financial reporting processes.
- Knowledge of payroll tax accounting, including withholding requirements and equity/stock-based compensation transactions.
- Demonstrated experience executing system testing, validation, and defect resolution activities.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
