What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Fully Automated Garbage Truck Driver position at Dale's Garbage Service , Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY: A Driver- CDL(B) is responsible for safely operating a automated side load garbage truck, and providing courteous and complete waste removal services for residential customers. Driver needed Monday-Thursday approximately 8 hour days starting salary at $800/week. Two years of prior experience driving automated side load (ASL) trucks is preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform pre and post trip truck inspection to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues.
- Safely operate heavy truck along designated route and to the local landfill; read route sheets, and service each customer as identified on the route sheet.
- Operate manual/automatic controls to lift and load garbage, operate compactor and dispose of collected waste at the landfill.
- Clean waste from packer blade and the truck body on each landfill run to ensure safe and smooth operations.
- Communicate with others on a daily basis to ensure all routes are serviced in a professional manner and reports any customer issues.
- Courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and coworkers; works with a sense of honest and trustworthiness.
- Clean area around an accidental waste spill.
- Monitor the condition of the truck to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time.
- Complete required route sheets and driver cover page daily.
- Pump fuel and air tires when needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of prior experience driving automated side load trucks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Class B or higher CDL with air brakes endorsement.
