The Human Resources Administrator supports the HR function in a fast‑paced construction environment, ensuring smooth operations across both office and field teams. This role is essential in maintaining compliance, coordinating workforce needs, and supporting employees working on multiple job sites. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with the unique demands of construction projects.
- Recruit skilled tradespeople, project staff, and administrative personnel.
- Coordinate pre‑employment requirements such as background checks, drug screenings, certifications, and site‑specific onboarding.
- Prepare and maintain jobsite onboarding packets, safety documentation, and new‑hire paperwork.
- Support offboarding processes, including collection of company equipment and final documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records, certifications, licenses, and training logs (e.g., OSHA, equipment operation, safety credentials).
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including prevailing wage, Davis‑Bacon, EEO, and apprenticeship requirements.
- Assist with audits, certified payroll reporting, and documentation for government or union‑related projects.
- Prepare employment letters, contract amendments, and HR-related correspondence.
- Collect and verify timesheets from multiple job sites, ensuring accuracy for hourly, union, and non‑union employees.
- Track prevailing wage classifications and ensure correct pay rates are applied.
- Support employees with benefits enrollment, eligibility questions, and leave requests.
- Coordinate with payroll and benefits vendors as needed.
- Partner with the Safety team to ensure employees meet training requirements and maintain compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with scheduling safety orientations, toolbox talks, and refresher courses.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
- Support initiatives that promote a positive, respectful, and safety‑focused culture across job sites.
- Manage HR inboxes, jobsite documentation, and administrative tasks.
- Support HR projects such as workforce planning, training programs, and process improvements.
- Assist with organizing company events, recognition programs, and training sessions.
- Experience in HR or administrative roles; construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Understanding of construction workforce dynamics, union environments, or prevailing wage projects is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across job sites.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and digital timekeeping tools.
