What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Estimator General Contractor/Construction Manager position at Dale Corp?
Dale Corp. is seeking a Senior Estimator with extensive experience in the Greater Philadelphia region. The ideal candidate has a strong background across all trades and will bring expertise in producing accurate, complete hard-bid and conceptual estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather details, compile data, analyze and interpret drawings/specifications to determine accurate cost of labor, materials, equipment, etc.
- Identify design intent and work with pre-construction teams
- Forecast project costs and prepare detailed estimates across all construction trades.
- Provide guidance to the estimating team on approach, methodology, and presentation format.
- Collaborate and communicate with clients, design teams, project managers, and subcontractors
- Perform takeoffs, review proposals and generate pricing using various software (Excel, OST, Procore).
- Provide cost analysis and value-engineering options to project teams.
- Track and update cost data for ongoing and future projects.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10 years of estimating experience in general contracting and / or construction management. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Experience with Pre-Con / Design Assist preferred. Strong background in MEPs / site is a plus.
- Philadelphia Focus: Knowledge of Greater Philadelphia labor markets across various industries (i.e. multi-family, healthcare, commercial, etc.).
- Technology Expertise: Proficiency with Microsoft products – Word, Excel, etc. (intermediate or above); skilled with estimating platforms such as Bluebeam, take-off software (i.e. OST) and PROCORE.
- Knowledge: Familiar with standard construction practices and procedures and able to apply judgment and creativity to proactive problem-solving.
- Skills: Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills. Detail-oriented. Deadline-driven. Integrity, accountability, reliability, proactivity and the ability to thrive under pressure while collaborating with a team.
