Construction Chief Operating Officer:
Daksta is currently exclusively partnered with a leading top 200 ENR ranked commercial GC, headquartered in Maryland, with revenues at $750M.
They're seeking a construction chief operating officer to oversee all operations across the DMV (district of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia), reporting directly into the CEO.
The Company:
A Maryland based commercial general contractor, working in a huge range of markets including commercial, government, education, life science, mission critical, residential and more - working on projects up to $1B.
The company is very cash rich, with a strong bonding capacity and ability to work on huge scale projects in the area. They operate with a family-feel integrity, not being a firm that's too big so you get lost in the corporate machine, but large enough where they have strong stability and can go head to head with the top ENR national GCs.
This role will entail overseeing all of their offices and all of their projects, as well as being directly accountable for their vice presidents. It will also involve working very closely with the business development team to help spearhead new markets, but also to foster existing accounts to help the company achieve their goal of being a $1B contractor in the next 5 years.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight of all company operations, offices, and construction projects.
- Be a key face of the company - attend conferences, strategic meetings, and be a vocal point of the community.
- Foster strong new relationships (particularly in the data center and multifamily space) to help spearhead new markets.
- Develop and implement operational systems and processes to drive efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop senior operational leaders to strengthen company culture and succession planning.
- Maintain strong client, partner, and stakeholder relationships to support long-term business success.
- Report directly into the President, with a long-term play of growing alongside the company.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years spent at an ENR Top 100 GC.
- Experience in data center construction.
- Strong business acumen - able to cite BD wins.
- Experience leading individual projects $200M .
- Prior experience in the D.C. metro area preferred.
- Strong job tenure.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary of $250,000 with an target bonus of $200,000-$250,000 depending on performance.
