Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
Dakotaland Manufacturing is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to lead daily shipping, receiving, and material handling operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring products are shipped accurately, received properly, and delivered on time to our customers.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can build accountability, support team development, improve processes, and keep safety, quality, and customer needs at the center of daily decisions.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Lead and support shipping, receiving, and material handling team members
- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly shipping schedules
- Ensure accurate shipment preparation, documentation, and inventory movement
- Coordinate company trucks, outside freight carriers, and customer delivery needs
- Maintain accurate inventory locations and resolve discrepancies
- Support receiving accuracy for inbound materials and freight
- Monitor and communicate on-time delivery performance
- Train employees on safety, procedures, and job expectations
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean manufacturing principles
- Support accident investigations and corrective actions when needed
What We’re Looking For
Qualified candidates will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, or production operations
- Valid driver's license required with a driving record that meets the company insurance eligibility requirements; must maintain insurability throughout employment.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, inventory control, shipping documents, and freight coordination
- Forklift/material handling certification or ability to obtain certification
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead by example, set expectations, and support accountability
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and ERP software
