This position will work out of the new headquarters for DFC Company right off I-94 and Sheyenne Street!


Summary:

  • Process benefits elections, qualifying life events, and termination changes in the HRIS and vendor systems.
  • Lead open enrollment process, auditing data, preparing communication materials, and assisting employees with elections.
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding for all incoming employees.
  • Prepare and process all new hire paperwork, I-9/E-Verify, pre-employment requirements, and system setup.
  • Maintain onboarding resources, checklists, and process documentation for accuracy and consistency.
  • Serve as a primary resource for employee benefits questions across medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, and voluntary benefits.
  • Manage FMLA, state PFML (MN), disability claims, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Partner with carriers and brokers to resolve discrepancies and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records in HR system (including personnel files and digital documentation).
  • Participate in and support compliance-related tasks, including ACA requirements, COBRA notifications, EEO reporting, and audit preparation.
  • Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on policies, procedures, and HR processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across HR processes, systems, and workflows.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure a smooth transition from candidate to new hire.
  • Collaborate with Payroll on benefit-related deductions, employee data accuracy, and leave tracking.
  • Manage employee separation and layoff processes, including assisting with unemployment notices and claim responses
  • Other tasks as defined by the VP – Human Resources


Experience and Skills Required: BS degree in Human Resources, or related field from an accredited college is desired. Minimum 3 years of directly related experience is a plus.
