Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other construction machinery.
- Perform repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspensions, and HVAC systems to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues related to heavy equipment operation and mechanical failures.
- Carry out fabrication tasks such as welding, assembly, and modifications to meet operational requirements or OEM specifications.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete repair reports, and document all maintenance activities accurately.
- Assist in equipment troubleshooting during breakdowns or malfunctions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Support customer service efforts by providing technical advice or explanations regarding equipment repairs and maintenance needs.
Skills
- Proven experience working with dealership service departments or heavy equipment OEMs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, electrical diagnostics, and automotive repair techniques.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software for electrical and engine systems.
- Expertise in troubleshooting equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery.
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams accurately.
- Skilled in performing diesel engine diagnostics, brake repair, alignment procedures, suspension work, tire service, and HVAC repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused approach; capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail.
