ENGINEERING SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE
This position serves as a key point of contact for members, contractors, and employees, coordinating new and existing electric service requests, including service installations, changes, rebuilds, and disconnects. The role manages customer information, schedules field work, ensures compliance with connection requirements, coordinates projects with Engineering Services staff, processes utility locate requests, and provides administrative support to Engineering Services. The position also assists with outage response activities and supports Energy Services work order management as needed.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Serve as a primary point of contact for members, contractors, and electricians regarding electric service requests and connection requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule service-related projects, meetings, and field work with Engineering Services personnel and customers.
- Process requests for new services, service changes, line extensions, relocations, rebuilds, and other utility-related applications.
- Maintain accurate customer, premise, GIS, CIS, and work management system records.
- Manage utility locate activities, including Gopher State One Call tickets and cable location dispatching.
- Support damage prevention efforts by investigating underground cable incidents and responding to location-related inquiries.
- Provide administrative support to Engineering Services through document preparation, record management, reporting, and general office functions.
- Assist with outage response activities and other departmental projects and initiatives as assigned.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Target Salary Range: $30.08 - 37.60/ hour

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Five years of related experience is required, preferably in a regulated utility environment. Each year of applicable technical school or college education may be substituted for a year of required experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Knowledge of customer information systems (CIS) and geographic information systems (GIS) is preferred.
- Completion of NRECA's System Fundamentals course, or an equivalent course of study, is required. If not completed prior to hire, the course must be successfully completed within the employee's first 30 days of employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to work overtime on a call-in basis for outages and other emergencies. Attendance at training seminars in and out of DEA’s headquarters is required.
