We are seeking an experienced accountant with at least 5 years of public accounting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple client engagements while providing high-quality accounting and tax services.
Responsibilities would include:
- Perform higher-level bookkeeping for business clients, including account reconciliations & financial statement preparation
- Process and review payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations
- Set up bookkeeping and payroll for new clients
- Prepare payroll tax filings and related reports
- Prepare sales & excise tax returns
- Prepare individual, partnership and S-Corp tax returns
- Review general ledger activity and make adjusting journal entries as needed
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters
- Stay current with tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory changes
- Support partners and senior staff with special projects and client consulting
- Is a key point of contact for the client on the day to day accounting matters
