Job Description
Dakota County Technical College invites applicants for adjunct/temporary part-time instructors to teach courses in our Construction Management program, who are dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Dakota County Technical College are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission.   • CMSV 1200
    : Construction Graphics
    (asynchronous online)
  • Course description: Study of graphic solutions to problems conditioned by traditional and emerging construction document standards. Students will produce construction graphics using computer-assisted processes. The principles of construction graphics are applied to the visualization, communication, and graphical analysis of problems. Introductory 2D documentation will progress into 3D modeling techniques.

Salary Range:
  • If teaching less than 5 credits (Adjunct): Per credit rate of $775 - $1650.
  • If teaching 5 or more credits total (Temporary, PT): $44,144.00 - 96,906.00 Annually (Based upon 1.0 FTE of 32 credits per years. Pay will be prorated, based upon credit load). Salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the
    2024 - 2025 MSCF Contract
    , and conducted by the Minnesota State System Office.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or construction science.
Occupational Experience Requirement
  • Two full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid experience in construction management.
Recency Requirement
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years
Preferred Qualification
  • Higher education teaching experience with a diverse student population
  • Experience with learning communities or team teaching
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including on-line instruction
  • Experience developing and using student-centered, active and experiential learning strategies
  • Experience integrating cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction
  • Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus-wide and classroom learning outcome
Additional Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
