Online Adjunct Forestry Lecturer
Status: Part-time – Non-benefited position
Job Description: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking two instructors to develop and teach forestry courses online for the 2026-2027 academic year. Courses may include topics such as urban forestry, arboriculture (introductory through advanced levels), tree and shrub health, pruning principles, urban forest management, and applied arboriculture practices. These courses are offered to freshman and sophomore undergraduate students. These positions will be responsible for the planning, implementation, teaching, and evaluation of student learning experiences, including assessment. Blackboard is the Learning Management System utilized by the institution.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in forestry, arboriculture, or natural resources, or closely related discipline. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong technology skills, experience teaching in Blackboard, and online teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in forestry, arboriculture, or natural resources, or closely related discipline. Experience teaching at a community college.
Additional Requirements: DCB does require a successful background check for the selected candidate prior to beginning employment. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. Dakota College at Bottineau does not provide sponsorship. We are unable to hire remote workers residing in the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Washington D.C.
Salary: $800 per credit; most courses are three credits. Compensation for courses with fewer than 10 enrolled students will be prorated. Additional compensation is available for courses exceeding the 20-student cap with instructor approval.
Closing Date: Until a qualified applicant is hired.
