Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Director of Nursing Services to lead our nursing team in delivering exceptional resident care. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in long-term care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home health environments. As the Director of Nursing Services, you will oversee clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of compassionate, resident-centered care while maintaining operational excellence.
Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all nursing services within the facility, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations, including long-term care regulations and Medicare requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care plans tailored to residents’ individual needs, incorporating memory care and physiology knowledge.
- Supervise and manage nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct caregivers, promoting professional development through ongoing training and supervision.
- Oversee documentation review processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA standards for medical records and medical terminology usage.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems effectively to maintain accurate patient documentation and facilitate seamless communication among care teams.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by conducting regular audits, managing care facility teams, and implementing quality assurance protocols aligned with long-term care regulations.
- Lead efforts in managing care quality metrics related to patient care outcomes, Medicare billing processes, and adherence to safety standards.
- Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes leadership in nursing administration, teamwork, and staff engagement.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health agencies with a focus on long-term care services.
- Proven management and supervising experience within healthcare settings; prior nurse management or nursing leadership roles preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and memory care practices relevant to resident needs.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for documentation review and patient records management.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure regulatory compliance with federal and state long-term care regulations as well as Medicare standards.
- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- In-depth understanding of HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy and data security.
- Ability to manage shift operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care and staff performance.
