Lab Tech- Fiber Analysis

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for weighing, testing and cleaning of all crucibles needed for fiber analysis. This position will also assist with rumen processing as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct analysis for starch digestibility
• Maintain the physical properties of the laboratory
• Weighing, testing, and cleaning crucibles for fiber analysis
• Dishing up and weighing samples as needed
• Process data entry into computer program
• Wash glassware
• Clean areas of lab
• Assist with rumen processing when needed
• Follow lab safety procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures and policies
• Keep current on lab methods and procedures
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED; required
• Previous experience in quantitative analysis (1 year), preferred
• Lab environment experience, preferred
• Proficient computer skills and experience with standard software programs, preferred

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AUTHORIZATIONS REQUIRED:

• Valid driver’s license and good driving record that meets our insurance company requirements
