What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Lab Technician - 2nd Shift position at Dairyfood USA, Inc.?
This position is responsible for conducting standardized qualitative and quantitative tests to determine physical or chemical properties of finished goods food products to ensure compliance with company, customer, or government quality standards. This position is accountable for managing the process of addressing product non-conformities and accurate documentation.
2nd shift hours are 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures.
- Perform line checks on all machines and areas of production to ensure that all required specifications are being met.
- Inform the more senior Laboratory Technicians as to any inconsistencies in the product.
- Assist in performing all chemical tests on product samples.
- Complete and organize associated paperwork.
- Assist in daily collection and categorizing of finished product samples and place them in sample libraries.
- Conduct weekly inspections of sample libraries and analyze products for defects. Inform supervisor of any defects based on that information and log the results.
- Set-up lab test sheets based on daily production schedule.
- Set up specification sheets based on daily production schedule and file the specification sheets when returned by production.
- Prepare and/or hand out sample tags for all processing areas.
- Perform additional duties which may be required, such as weight studies and product inspections.
- Keep the lab and associated equipment clean and organized.
- Follow all safety program procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or the equivalent.
- A minimum 1 year of QA lab experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- An Associates degree in food or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of QA lab experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using laboratory equipment and knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices.
