QA Engineer

The Daily Wire is seeking a QA Engineer to ensure the quality, stability, and reliability of our digital products. In this role, you’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define test strategies, validate releases, and build automation frameworks that uphold our high standards for excellence. You’ll work closely with our offshore QA team to coordinate testing efforts, provide technical guidance, and maintain consistent coverage across time zones. This position is ideal for an engineer eager to grow toward automation and tooling—reducing regressions, streamlining releases, and improving overall engineering efficiency through both manual and automated testing practices.

•  Collaborate with engineers and product managers to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and release validation plans.
• Coordinate daily testing efforts with offshore QA engineers, ensuring alignment on priorities, test coverage, and execution quality.
• Perform manual and exploratory testing for web, mobile, and backend services.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Build and execute test cases for APIs and backend services using Postman, TestRail, or similar tools.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
• Track, analyze, and report defects using Jira, ensuring clear, actionable communication between QA and development teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure QA readiness during sprint planning and release cycles.
• Mentor offshore QA engineers on best practices for testing, automation, and documentation.
• Advocate for quality across engineering, helping the team prevent defects early and deliver more stable releases.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is aplus!
• 2 years of experience in software QA or test automation engineering.
• Proven experience in manual and automated testing of web, API, and mobile applications.
• Proficiency with one or more automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress).
• Experience with REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React/Next.js) and backend systems (Golang, Node.js, or similar).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, JavaScript, or Java).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and offshore QA teams.
