(Montana Site) Daily's Premium Meats Accounts Payable

SUMMARY: Obtains financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Assignments are routine in nature and are carried out in accordance with general instructions and established procedures under direction of the accounting manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Receive, open and date incoming mail.
• 3 Way Match P.O receipts and invoices. Obtain approvals.
• Code invoice batches, obtain approvals, prepare voucher spreadsheet, and turn in with invoice batch for accounting manager approval.
• Accruals Check request – code tags, prepare spreadsheet for accounting manager approval.
• Scan invoices and e-mail to corporate, file the originals.
• Respond to vendor inquiries, research accounts payable invoice issues.
• Create PO’s and accounts payable filing.
• Prepare brokerage and rebate invoices for approval. Send copies to corporate.
• Verifies and codes all freight out invoices.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and at least two years accounting / bookkeeping experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to follow oral and written instructions and the ability to prepare routine and procedural reports and records in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply basic mathematical principles to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form, to deal with problems and know when to ask for help.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to use computer and all standard programs used by the industry. Extensive knowledge of Excel and Word is required. Must be flexible in work duties and times, expand knowledge of the work area and be able to willingly fill in as needed in emergency situations.
