SUPV COILS

The Coils Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to oversee the production process coils and ensure that manufacturing operations are running efficiently and effectively.  Ensures production schedules are attained daily while meeting safety, cost, and quality objectives to support the achievement of the Company business goals and objectives. Responsible for making recommendations and supporting continuous improvement, 5S and Lean manufacturing concepts, while actively encouraging associate involvement. 

Position Responsibilities

• Supervise the manufacturing process of air conditioning coils, including coil assembly, brazing, testing, and packaging.
• Monitor production activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
• Assign tasks and schedules to production workers and ensure they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
• Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure that air conditioning coils meet specified standards and customer requirements.
• Continuously monitor production output to minimize scrap, rework, and product non-conformities.
• Collaborate with the production planning team to develop production schedules and ensure optimal resource allocation.
• Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement strategies to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Optimize production processes to minimize waste, and reduce downtime
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, and recommend and implement relevant changes.
• Foster a positive and safe working environment, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and promoting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, maintenance, and logistics, to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to manufacturing operations.

• Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a support, production or operations team
• Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion
• Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager
• Accountable for the support or production operations team including subordinate work leaders
• Typically does not spend more than 20% of one's time performing the work supervised
  
  

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of air conditioning coil manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of production workers.
• Proficiency in using manufacturing software and systems for production planning and reporting.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  
  

Competency

Experience:

• 2 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the HVAC industry or related field.
  
  

Education/Certification

• High school diploma or GED equivalent 
  
  

People Management: Yes

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. High volume manufacturing environment with forklift traffic. May have higher noise volume in areas – hearing protection required. Requires ability to stand for long periods up to 8 to 10 hrs. May need to lift up to 40lbs.
