Position Summary
Order Pickers fill work orders by accurately identifying, pulling materials and delivering them to the requested destination.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Picking parts of various size, shape, and weight according to work orders
- Placing parts carefully in kits to avoid damage.
- Delivering part orders to the requested work site.
- Meeting expectations for number and accuracy of work orders picked.
- May be required to use material handling equipment, following all safety rules.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat and complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Reading and maintaining information in the inventory system, ensuring accurate records.
- Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
- Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience operating forklift equipment a plus
- Experience with inventory a plus
- Good computer skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and write English and use basic math.
- Good organization skills
- Good time management skills
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Team orientation
- Medium work Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Reaching Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
- Walking Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
- Lifting Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
- Fingering Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
- Grasping Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
- Talking Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
- Repetitive motions Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
