Job Description
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the full-cycle processing of weekly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments, tax reporting, and compliance with union and prevailing wage requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, multi-state and multi-union environments, and the ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Processing employee paperwork and entering payroll data into the ERP system.
- Running weekly payroll, direct deposits, and submitting benefits files to vendors.
- Ensuring timely tax payments and completing tax reporting through W-2s.
- Managing certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting.
- Maintaining payroll system setup and calculations.
- Processing wage garnishments.
- Researching payroll issues and following up on employee questions.
- Completing employment verifications.
- Assisting with entering employee timesheets for field crews.
- Supporting internal and external audits.
- Compiling monthly union reporting and other reports as needed.
- Completing testing for software upgrades.
- Handling special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- One to five (1–5) years of payroll processing experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll procedures and basic accounting principles.
- Current working knowledge of state and federal tax regulations.
- Experience with payroll systems.
- Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Multi-state and multi-union payroll experience.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification.
- UKG Pro/Dimensions experience.
