The Global Controller will oversee all global accounting operations and serve as a strategic financial partner to executive and regional leadership. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance across international entities while supporting business growth, scalability, and long-term strategic initiatives within a privately held, family-owned organization.

Job Description
The Global Controller will oversee all global accounting operations and serve as a strategic financial partner to executive and regional leadership. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance across international entities while supporting business growth, scalability, and long-term strategic initiatives within a privately held, family-owned organization.
Key Responsibilities
Global Accounting & Compliance
- Lead global general accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple international entities
- Ensure accurate consolidation, foreign currency translation, and statutory reporting
- Establish, maintain, and enforce global accounting policies and internal controls in accordance with US GAAP
- Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements across international jurisdictions
- Coordinate and lead the annual external audit process
- Partner with tax teams on transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, and international profitability analysis
- Oversee intercompany accounting and global reconciliation processes
- Provide financial leadership and insight to regional and functional business leaders
- Support budgeting, forecasting, balance sheet management, and cash flow planning
- Deliver financial analysis to support capital investments, pricing decisions, and strategic initiatives
- Participate in acquisition and divestiture activities, including due diligence, valuation support, and post-acquisition integration
- Lead and develop a high-performing global accounting organization, including indirect oversight of international teams
- Drive process improvement, documentation, automation, and system scalability as the business grows
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Operations, and HR on enterprise initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- 15–20 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
- Current or recent experience at the Controller or Global Controller level
- Significant multinational accounting experience, including international consolidation and foreign currency translation
- Experience working within a privately held company (family-owned strongly preferred); large public-company-only backgrounds will not align
- Strong knowledge and application of US GAAP
- Proven ability to operate effectively across cultures and geographies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Active CPA (preferred but not required)
- Prior public accounting audit experience
- Manufacturing industry experience (medical device experience not required)
- Master’s degree (MBA or Accounting/Finance-related)
- Experience building and scaling global accounting processes and systems
