The Civil Engineer will be responsible for providing comprehensive engineering services across a variety of municipal, land development, and aviation projects. Job Description
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for providing comprehensive engineering services across a variety of municipal, land development, and aviation projects. This role involves both office-based design work and field coordination to ensure projects are delivered successfully from concept through construction.
- Provide civil engineering services including design, preparation of plans/specifications, reports, budgets, scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates
- Coordinate project activities with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure successful execution
- Participate in client meetings, design discussions, pre-bid meetings, and construction coordination sessions
- Maintain project documentation and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
- Conduct periodic site visits and provide construction observation to ensure adherence to design standards and specifications
- Collaborate with construction teams to address technical issues and implement effective solutions
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing updates on project progress and addressing concerns in a timely manner
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to support continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or actively working toward licensure in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, or Iowa
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and organizational levels
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency in engineering software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to grow in a team-oriented environment
- Experience working on municipal, land development, or aviation projects
- Interest in or familiarity with rural infrastructure projects and small-community challenges
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to client relationships and deliver a positive project experience
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach
