Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Lift (forklift, Conolift, Wiggins lift) Operator to support the yard operations of the Marina. This position is integral in the launch process moving vessels in and out of the water. You will communicate closely with our Marina administrative team and coordinate with our Dock Hand team as needed to launch/stow customer vessels. The Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the lift in all maneuvers, lifting, lowering, fueling, traveling safely through pedestrian traffic zones, launching and recovering vessels within our Marina including the dry stacks. The Operator is responsible for the mechanical and cosmetic condition of the particular lift. Ensure a consistently high level of customer/guest satisfaction and take pride in representing Dagmars Marina.

This is an on-site position based at our Dagmars location. The current work schedule need is three 12 hour shifts on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and a shorter shift on Wednesdays to total 40 hours a week.

Systems Used

Dockwa – marina management platform for contracts, customer & vessel information, and stall location

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, Wiggins lift, Conolift or other material handling equipment
• Operate mobile technology
• Other duties and projects, as assigned

Yard Operations & Customer Service

• Communicate closely with Marina administrative team on boater arrivals, scheduling, launches, retrievals, etc.
• Proper use of personal protection (hearing protection) and communicative equipment while operating machinery
• Monitor Dockwa to coordinate launches, returns and requests
• Works with Marina administrative team, Dock Hands, or General Manager to ensure scheduled launches are completed in a timely manner
• Monitor gauges, dials and other indicators to make sure machinery / equipment is working properly
• Perform daily fluid checks and general operation checks of hydraulic lines and fittings, forks and fork pads, chains and rollers. Report any irregularities to management
• Ensure that lift is operating safely, and schedule maintenance as needed
• Maintain service records and perform routine maintenance on lifts
• Assist mechanics in trouble shooting and repairs on lifts
• Assist members while docking, tying, boarding and disembarking from vessels providing professional customer service
• Safely and properly launch boats and return to stall or bunk
• Ensure all drain plugs are secure when applicable
• Maintain and upkeep the dry storage racks and repair as necessary
• Perform grounds maintenance and ensure cleanliness of forklift, Conolift, Wiggins lift, barn, break area in shop and general yard area
• Provide outstanding customer service and effectively handle guests’ requests

Compliance & Operational Support

• Help maintain internal documentation, procedures, and operational records
• Abide by safety protocol
• Report safety concerns or unusual activity to marina management
• Assist with coordination when operational issues arise

Qualifications

Required

• Prior lift experience required.
• Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Capable of multi-tasking
• Self-driven and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to communicate well with customers and co-workers
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• Excellent customer service and guest relations
• Able to maintain confidentiality of member/guest information

Preferred

• Strongly prefer 2 years of experience operating a lift at a boat storage facility
• Lift certification, but can also be obtained after hire
• Knowledge of machinery and tools, including their uses, benefits, repair and maintenance
• Ability to operate reservation software and tablet

Compensation & Benefits

· $26–$28 per hour, depending on experience

Work Environment

On-site position in Everett, WA in a yard-based role within an active marina environment where you will be working outside a good portion of the time. Schedule may vary based on the season. This position at times requires someone to lift up to 50 pounds and to perform tasks requiring physical exertion.

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
