After-School & Summer Site Coordinator
Dafmark Dance Theater – Dafmark Youth Wellness Center
Erie, PA
$22.50/hour| Approximately 40 hours per week | Year-Round
About the Position
Dafmark Dance Theater is seeking an energetic, organized, dependable, and highly engaged Site Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of the Dafmark Youth Wellness Center (DYWC), an after-school and summer program serving youth ages 6–18.
This is a unique position for someone who enjoys working directly with youth while also taking on leadership, culinary, and program coordination responsibilities. The Site Coordinator is the lead day-to-day staff member at the Wellness Center and works alongside youth staff, culinary instructors, dance, fitness and martial arts educators, volunteers, teen employees, interns, families, and Dafmark leadership.
We are looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys being actively involved in programming, can confidently lead a room of young people, and sees what needs to be done without always needing to be asked.
What You'll DoLead the Day-to-Day Program
- Help manage a busy after-school and summer program serving elementary, middle, and high school youth.
- Maintain a strong, active presence with youth throughout the program day.
- Know and manage the daily schedule and keep activities and transitions running on time.
- Take and maintain accurate daily attendance.

- Assist with setting up and cleaning up activities.
- Help instructors care for program materials and equipment.
- Make sure instructors have the supplies and support they need.
- Help ensure required program paperwork is completed.
This position requires someone who is comfortable actively participating in programming rather than simply observing from the sidelines.
Teach Cooking Classes
Cooking is a major component of this position.
The Site Coordinator will teach approximately 5–7 hours of cooking classes per week and should be comfortable working with youth in a teaching kitchen.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and teaching fun, age-appropriate cooking lessons.
- Preparing monthly lesson plans and ingredient lists.
- Teaching youth basic cooking skills and kitchen safety.
- Maintaining a clean and organized teaching kitchen.
- Keeping the pantry, refrigerator, and freezer organized.
- Following food-safety procedures.

The Site Coordinator is also responsible for purchasing groceries and approved supplies for DYWC culinary programming, including:
- Coordinating ingredient needs with culinary instructors.
- Creating organized shopping lists.
- Purchasing approved groceries within established budgets.
- Maintaining receipts and purchasing documentation.
- Making sure ingredients are available before scheduled classes.
- Properly storing groceries and food supplies.

- Keeping them actively engaged during their shifts.
- Teaching appropriate workplace expectations.
- Providing guidance and feedback.
- Making sure assigned tasks are completed.
- Reviewing and submitting applicable timekeeping/payroll documentation.

This includes:
- Organizing supplies and storage areas.
- Monitoring inventory.
- Keeping the kitchen and program spaces clean.
- Making sure supplies are properly stored.
- Identifying supply needs before items run out.
- Assigning appropriate cleaning and organization responsibilities to staff, teen workers, interns, and volunteers.
Program Development & Administrative Responsibilities
During the school year, approximately 6.5 hours of the 40-hour workweek are dedicated to administrative, planning, shopping, and program-development responsibilities. Some of these hours may be completed off-site when authorized.
For the 2026–2027 school year, major projects include:
Dinner/Meal Program Development
Help Dafmark research, develop, apply for, and implement an eligible meal reimbursement program with the goal of having the program operational by May 2027.
Family Engagement Program
Develop, coordinate, and lead a four-session Family Engagement Program for Dafmark youth and their families.
As these projects are completed, administrative hours may be used for other responsibilities such as program planning, family communication, culinary coordination, inventory management, reports, recordkeeping, special events, field trips, meal-program administration, and development of new program activities.
Off-site administrative hours require appropriate Time & Effort documentation.
