Purpose of Role

The Financial Aid Specialist assists with the day-to-day operations of the Financial Aid office and ensuring the effective delivery of financial aid services to students.

About This Opportunity

Joining our Financial Aid team, the Financial Aid Specialist will be responsible for the following:

• Prepare financial aid files for all students.
• Review packaging summary reports to identify first-year and transfer students in need of packaging.
• Assist with all aspects of federal work study: monitor federal work study earnings; post final federal work study earnings in Colleague at year-end; provide financial aid work study eligibility status information to HR Student Employment Coordinator as needed.
• Front-facing position: greet office visitors, answer phones, respond to emails.
• Open, sort and file mail. • File financial aid folders in appropriate file cabinet.
• Check all outgoing aid packages/letters for accuracy.
• Track and order office supplies and print materials as necessary.
• Create file folders for new incoming students.
• Assists with supervision of student work study in Financial Aid office.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Previous banking or financial aid experience preferred
