Job Description
Position: Quality Specialist Reports to: Quality Manager
Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for training and monitoring and supervising quality associates
- Assist Quality Manager in aligning AQ section improvement activities
- Maintain supplier performance records, visit suppliers to review quality concerns and issues to minimize inspection requirements
- Establish and present regular training for associates on quality issues, and develop programs to encourage each associate to perform quality control as part of operations
- A significant amount of time is spent on the production floor monitoring progress and planning and aiding in issue resolution, supervise quality inspectors to ensure performance of all internal and external quality checks
- Process audits for assuring compliance with Quality goals and objectives
- Document and communicate with HR and production associates to ensure progressive discipline is followed
- Conduct performance appraisals as required
- Review and submit accurate time and attendance sheets
- Manage daily work assignments of associates to achieve daily production targets
- Develop operating standards and make recommendations for improvement in overall production
- Establish and monitor appropriate work-in-progress inventory levels for raw material and component parts
- Monitor adherence to safety
- Ensure appropriate and required training is complete and properly documented for all associates
- Build teamwork and maintain positive morale
- Facilitates, leads, coaches and appraises the work of the staff and ensure staff consistently meets or exceed job standards
- Manager daily work assignments
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft office and internet
- Ability to keep internal and external employee information confidential
- Demonstrates product and process knowledge
- Flexible, detail oriented and ability to multi-task
- Previous manufacturing experience required
- Ability to use and read basic measuring devices
- Parts inspection ability and process knowledge required
- Demonstrates reliability, dependability, attendance and good work ethics

Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree or 2 years comparable background of work related experience preferred

- This position is in a factory and could involve exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, noise and may be exposed to hot or cold environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
