Director of Youth Ministries (Part-Time)

First United Methodist Church of Dade City, Florida

First United Methodist Church of Dade City is seeking a Director of Youth Ministries to lead and grow a Christ-centered ministry for middle and high school students. This role partners with church leadership to build relationships, develop strong programs, and help students grow in Christian faith.

Schedule / Compensation

• Part-time: 20 hours per week
• Compensation includes an annual salary from $18,000 - $22,000 commensurate with experience, and paid time off after a year of service

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, supervise, and evaluate youth ministry for middle and high school students
• Coordinate and lead weekly gatherings (Sunday & Wednesday), Bible studies, special events, retreats, trips, and fundraisers
• Communicate with students and families through social media, bulletins, flyers, and the church website
• Invest in youth beyond church programming (attend school/community events as appropriate)
• Recruit, train, and support volunteer adult leaders
• Participate in required Church Council meetings
• Follow all child/youth protection policies (including United Methodist conference requirements)

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (candidates without a degree will still be considered)
• 2–3 years of experience working with youth/children required
• Ability to pass a background check
• Active Christian faith, history of church involvement, and commitment to Jesus Christ
• Familiarity with and acceptance of United Methodist beliefs
• Strong digital communication and basic computer skills
