We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specialising in the Operating Room to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Prepare patients for surgery by explaining procedures, ensuring consent is obtained, and addressing any concerns.
- Assist in the positioning and draping of patients to facilitate surgical procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patient responses during surgery, intervening as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other operating theatre staff to ensure smooth procedural flow.
- Maintain sterile environments by adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Document all patient care activities accurately in accordance with hospital policies.
- Assist with post-operative care, including monitoring recovery and providing patient education on wound care and follow-up procedures.
- Ensure all surgical equipment is properly sterilised, maintained, and ready for use.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse qualification recognised.
- Proven experience working within an operating theatre or surgical environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy relevant to surgical procedures.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards patients' needs.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
