Shift: 8-Hour Day Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Job Summary
John Muir Health is seeking an experienced Cytotechnologist for a 13-week travel assignment within the Microbiology/Cytology department. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an award-winning healthcare provider and contribute to high-quality laboratory diagnostics.
Contract Details
- Start Date: 12/02/2025 or 12/16/2025 (orientation dates ONLY)
- End Date: 02/28/2026
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Required Qualifications
- Cytotechnologist (CT) – ASCP Certification
- CDPH License (California Department of Public Health)
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science field
- Minimum 3 years of cytology experience
- Ability to prepare specimens and screen slides for abnormalities for referral to the pathologist
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel experience (not required)
- Strong professional references
- Experience in a hospital laboratory environment
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and process cytology specimens
- Screen gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides
- Identify abnormalities and refer findings to the pathologist
- Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail
- Follow established laboratory protocols and quality standards
- Work independently and efficiently during day shifts
- Collaborate with pathology and microbiology teams
