Balloon Artist / Production Lead

Overview
We are seeking a lead production / balloon artist who is responsible for assigned project production and completion within budget and according to deadline/installation schedule. Lead production/balloon artist is responsible for taking a project from initiation with potential lead to final installation including coordinating color scheme/theme, final design coordination, execution of inflation and preparation of project materials, assistance with directing work of other balloon artists for production, proper storage/handling coordination, and final hand off or completion of installation/delivery of balloon and prop arrangements and installations.

Duties

• Regular communication with operations manager/owner to discuss weekly projects/deadlines/schedule.
• Organizing projects and work to align with production schedule/project deadlines, including overseeing work of production with other DPB staff.
• Ensuring project deadlines are met by full planning and execution of balloon inflation, vinyl preparation, rental prop preparation, offering feedback on needs and supplies for such projects.
• Oversee weekly inventory checks, filling on-shelf inventory, backstock inventory, project supplies ordering and coordination of project’s special orders.
• Assist when needed with any project orders to include shipments, deliveries, installations.
• Direct day of installations and tear-down including driving delivery van, vendor coordination/communication, loading and unloading, rental prop setup, balloon installation - including add ons/ extras, ensuring timely completion.
• Communication with clients on design, order process and fulfillment, and coordination of event details, and/or client general inquiries.
• Maintain and establish professional communication and rapport with clients, vendors, and other Daddy Pop Balloons staff.
• Assist in creation of standardized processes to streamline work, to include creation of detailed mockups, instruction guides, reference sheets.
• Assist with other administrative tasks including but not limited to invoicing, maintaining project management & leads database, maintaining stock and ordering of supplies, customer and vendor follow up and communication, creation of spreadsheets, project plans, and assisting with future growth initiatives.
• Assists with other projects or assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize work and multi-task often shifting focus based on project deadlines and incoming orders.
• Execution of project from start to finish with ability to make decisions to keep projects moving forward, knowing when to escalate urgent and important issues while ensuring the project remains on schedule.
• Self starter, motivated individual with ability to work with minimal supervision both independently and in a team environment. Must be adept in working independently with little direction, using common sense and good judgement when making decisions on behalf of DPB.
• Ability to teach others how to create and fulfill balloon orders/ rental props/ overall project design.
• Strong work ethic with flexible availability including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Detail oriented with a creative eye for color and design - ability to look at image and distinguish colors, create visually pleasing design, effectively communicate design with both customers and DPB staff through mockups and on-site explanation.
• Experience with word, excel, email programs, design programs (Canva), and must be comfortable with learning and working in new programs.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, vendors, employees, both verbal and written.
• Job includes responsibility to both work and get to/from with reliable transportation DPB office/warehouse, other event spaces/client homes around DFW area.
• Has a safety mindset when executing projects including educating/ making others aware of risks and hazards, fostering a safety focused environment.
• Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record. Ability to drive large cargo van.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to withstand various working conditions and physical demands including prolonged sitting, standing, lifting and carrying up to 50lbs, reaching and safely climbing up to 10 ft ladder with up to 14 ft reach, crouching/kneeling/stooping, gross and fine manipulation, reaching overhead, climbing ramps and stairs.
• Working in both indoor temperature controlled conditions as well as outdoor conditions for prolonged periods ( heat/sun exposure, cold).

NOTE: The ideal schedule is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 8:30-4:30 (some flexibility on hours), Saturday and occasional Sundays. Please do not apply if you are unable to work at least 3 Saturdays a month. Most Saturday installs range from 7:30- 4:00 pm, however this can change based on need. Weekend availability is non- negotiable as we are in the events industry.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 32 per week
