Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Salvage Yard Laborer to join our team. This role involves assisting with the sorting, processing, and handling of salvage materials in a busy yard environment. No prior experience is necessary, as training will be provided; however, a positive attitude, dependability, strong work ethic, and the ability to work in all outdoor weather conditions are essential for success.
Duties
- Assist with the unloading and sorting of salvage materials such as metals, appliances, and other recyclable items
- Operate basic hand tools and equipment to facilitate material handling
- Maintain a clean and organized yard by removing debris and ensuring clear pathways
- Help with loading materials onto trucks or containers for transportation and dismantling of vehicles
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
- Support team members in daily yard operations and tasks as needed
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any issues to supervisors
Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Perform general labor duties in salvage and recycling yard operations
- Assist with loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and dismantling of scrap metal and vehicle materials
