Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide memory care support for individuals experiencing cognitive challenges.
- Monitor and document vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes in health status are reported promptly.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and skill development.
- Support individuals in navigating their environments safely, which may include heavy lifting or physical assistance.
- Foster a nurturing atmosphere that encourages independence while providing necessary support.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for all clients.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those requiring memory care is a plus.
- Experience in nursing home settings or similar environments is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
